Housing is one of Mumbai’s biggest challenges; finding affordable and convenient housing is especially difficult for the economically disadvantaged. In response, HDIL has partnered MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority), to launch the Mumbai Metropolitan Region’s largest rental housing scheme.
In a truly collaborative venture, HDIL will construct self-contained units in 14-storeyed quake-resistant buildings in CIDCO-approved layouts, that meet all the standard norms for high-rise structures. While MMRDA will be responsible for all the infrastructural development, including 4-lane roads, water supply, electricity and a skywalk to the railway station.
While HDIL will hand over the rental housing units to MMRDA free of cost, the company will also build elegant, space-efficient 1,2 and 3 bedroom homes for free sale at affordable rates, in an eco-friendly environment with ultra modern amenities including hospitals, primary and secondary schools, community centres, gardens, playgrounds, electric sub-station, bus terminal, parking lots, shopping centre, police and fire stations.
